Text entry
When I enter text into a drawing:
(1) I pick the single line text icon. I pick a spot on the drawing to enter the text.
(2) I enter the size and angle.
(3) Ready to enter text. But the drawing does does not have cursor or cross hairs or a box
to show the location of the text.
(4) The text enters fine at the selected location, but before entering there is no position location info.
Is there a switch to turn on?
Usually you expect to see a box or other to show location of text.

I think you may be confusing:
TEXT command (DTEXT), and
MTEXT command (which displays text box)0 -
Singe line text displays nicely as you type on my machines. V13+0
