SHAPE: how to get the volume of a 3d solid?

I made a 3d volume of a building. Now I want to get the total volume of that building. I can see the surface in m² but can't get the volume in m³ from a solid.

Where or how can you see the surface?

  • It think by Quad RTips, for a single Face, when you hover over that Face.

  • Ah, yes that is probably what the OP means. And you can select multiple faces as well.

  • That is difficult.
In full Bricscad you can customize what your Quad's Rollover Tips display.
But "Volume" is not available as an Option for Solids.
I can only see Volume shown in Bricscad's Property Palette, which is not
    included in Shape.
The other option in Bricscad BIM may be data extraction and tables,
which is also not available in Shape.

So I have no idea where you could read Volume Information in Shape.

No, there is a Volume Option for "3D" Solids.
I checked the "2D" Solid only.

But still Bricscad only and not available in Shape,
as there is no GUI Customization Dialog.

  • Shhhhh.... Keep it to yourselves, but shape creates a dwg file, and the free Trueview program from ****cad can give you the massproperties of solids.

I think that is a good workaround.
Maybe there are more other free options - outside of Shape
