Hello.
In Bricscad, the modelling process is quite different from Revit.
Mostly, the modelling is done in 3D.Related to modelling in 2D, there is the Top View Mode (TVM) feature.
This mode can be accessed by using the story bar, see the article linked below.https://help.bricsys.com/en-us/document/bricscad-bim/design-assistance/the-story-bar?version=V26&id=166936622010
In TVM, only a part of the model is visible.
The reference plane is the one of the current level.
The visible space is measured from the reference plane above and below.
The story bar has some sliders that adjust how much space is visible, above and below.Using these sliders, some space below can be made visible.
With this, the walls from the level below can be viewed in transparency mode.
This is somewhat similar to Revit, where the level below can be displayed while editing the current level.Related to the grid, it is displayed in TVM only if it is in the range set by the sliders of the story bar.
So, assuming the grid is placed on the XY plane of the WCS, the grid will be visible only in TVM of the floor closest to the XY plane.
Something worth experimenting with could be to add a parameter to control the elevation of the grid.
(The grid is a special type of block - it has its own coordinate system).Using the parameter, the level of the grid can be changed so that it enters the range set by the sliders.
There are two extra steps with this approach: adjust the parameter when starting editing and reseting it to 0 when finishing the edit.
