Hi All,

I am about to embark on "trying" to model a Point Cloud Survey to BIM using BricsCAD. I will be using v24, as it is way faster than v25 which is bogged down with AI.

I will be using this in conjunction with Cloudworx for the modelling.

Am I correct that I should model the elements using the 3D modelling Tab and then "Bimify" it in the BIM tab?

Assuming this is correct, do I need to concern myself with layering names and or colours. Will that impact the Bimify stage? Does layering naming assist Bimify?

"I" would model elements and put them on layers, Columns etc. but wanted to clarify that "Bimify" process doesn't allocate layers at that point and pre naming causes problems.

Being as there isn't a lot of useful, current info on this, any help greatfully appreciated.

Hi,

Bimify ignores layerinformation (as long as layers are not locked or hidden). Once a 3 model has bim information, you can easily the structure browser to query the model. Layers can be use to additional structure your model but typically is not needed.
