Tiling in BIM

We want to create floor tiles with joints using BIM.
In Bricscad 2D, we created a tiling pattern of 600x300mm tiles with 3mm joints using the SuperHatch command, where we could define a specific space/boundary for the tiling and also set the origin point of the tile pattern within the 2D drawing. Have attached ref images showing tiling done with SuperHatch command (how we exactly want to see in 2d output from BIM).
Is there a similar method in BricsCAD BIM to generate tiling within a specified boundary/space like SuperHatch, but with full parametric control over parameters such as tile size, tile thickness and joint thickness? If this can be done in BIM, it will help us to extract quantities accurately after the layout is ready.

Additionally, we want to incorporate a staggered tile pattern (like running bond or offset rows).

Comments

  • I'm afraid this is not possible in BIM.

  • If you want actual tiles not area then you would need to make closed pline of each of the tiles, then could get how many. Not sure what explode does to the tiles as hatch, may need to rejoin using Pedit M Join. I dont use BIM so comments based around normal CAD.
