Status bar tooltips

Hi. Can anyone tell me how to turn off the tooltips/prompt/box that appears when you hover over any of the status bar buttons? If you toggle of Rollover tips that doesnt work.

  Tooltips on the Status Bar are controlled via TOOLTIPS variable. It also toggles the display of tooltips for toolbars, the Ribbon, the Quad and the Properties.
