Strange message in command history
I use BC Pro V26 latest update. When I am on a layout tab and create a viewport with "mview" and click two points a rectangular viewport is created. Good!
Now when I select the new viewport …
Click the "custom" (scale button in status bar) …
Select a scale from the list the viewport is redrawn to that scale. Again good!
There is now the following line in the command history:
"Command can be used only with drawing views. Use command VIEWBASE first."
I have never seen this before. Have no idea what it means. As far as I can tell everything seems to continue working. It is not a fatal error.
So, what command does clicking on the "scale" status button invoke? Also, isn't a viewport a "drawing view"?
Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Hello,
Viewport standard scale from the status bar allows you to set the scale of the selected layout viewport relative to paper space. That message seems to be a bug in BricsCAD when using the status bar for the scale as the VIEWUPDATE command is triggered. When using the scale in Properties panel, this message is not present.
Drawing view and viewports are different. A drawing view is a representation of a 3D model placed on a drawing sheet and a viewport is a window into model space. You can create drawing views using VIEWBASE command.

Hi Jerryfiedler, this is definitely a bug, there is a related internal task about it. If you have a maintenance, it's worth to send a support request about the issue to add value to the task.

Patricia,
Thank you for your response. I always set the scale of my viewport by clicking on the status bar icon. I did not know of the command VIEWUPDATE and will look into it out of curiosity. While trying to figure out what the message was telling me I learned about "drawing view" but thank you for taking the time to explain it.
Lyubov Osina,
I have a maintenance contract but this item is so minor and has no affect on my work that I would not want the very busy coding engineers at Bricsys to spend any time fixing it. Thank you for your comment.
