as a workaround you can use bimpatch to edit the section and scale/get rid of the markers, not perfect, but for the moment...
edit:
it would indeed be nice to have some control over the scale and the layers where these markers show up.
But don't know right now what it is really meant to be.
So far I see only a fast realtime preview for Bricscad only,
at half the price of the whole Enscape package.
I'd happily pay full price if i wouldn't have to jump around between diff…
hm, i think you can, i have to admit though, that it can be a bit fiddly with multiple layers. I've attached a small example:
If you look at the image on the right side on the layer controls, you can see that the Viewport Color is overridden to be …
How about overwriting the display colors per viewport to match colors in your .ctb that are defined to be printed as a screened grey? You wouldn't have to change any of the original colors and you could either do it using a layerstate (in case you h…
... you should know that these points are stored.
oh man, looking at how many years i've been around the big A and BricsCad i should have been able to figure that one out... this explains a LOT of fiddeling around with hatches
Hi, sorry for the late reply, didn't see that you mentioned me here.. Did you map this image to the surface as a texture or place an image in 3D space? If you create a material and use the image in the diffuse channel it should work fine..
Brics to handle meshes elegantly shd be a big priority.
Definitely! (That should also include mesh display in sections, I already filed a support request a while back..). As Michael mentioned, a lot of the manufacturer data available is mesh da…
I'm quite happy with poliigon.com. They have a large variety of well prepared textures that are available in different resolutions including all maps necessary for rendering.
https://www.arroway-textures.ch has good building material textures, all …
Hi Konstantin,
to be honest, the whole effort is also out of my own interest, i just took your question as the initial kick in the b*tt to finally start looking into it. I'd been using python/c# scripting for a while to make my life easier with rep…
update:
I had some time to play around with GH in Bricscad. It's reasonably straightforward to make your own component use Bricscad entities and other Grasshopper components seem to work without problems. You have to relink some dll's in the projec…
Hi Konstantin,
One thing i forgot to mention is, that you generally have the possibility to write c# / vb / python scripts in grasshopper scripting components. This might already address a lot of your needs without getting too deep into the whole r…
there's a "bake geometry" component with a "bake into bricscad" option when you right click the component (r-click on the dark "BG" field of the component, not the output parameter. It lets you bake plain geometry like breps and curves.
I guess …
Well not really messing, technically it's more accurate, but Germany has certain rules what can be added, subtracted, has to listed seperately from the base surface when quoting prices...
It would certainly be nice if propagate would recognize this…
I just stumbled upon a solution myself, while joining two other walls: if your ply material hast "union section" and "union elevation" enabled, you can just add a simple solid with the material attached as a single ply composition to the wall end. I…
I just wanted to submit a file, but i have the feeling, that with yesterdays update it disappeared. Both in the old file, as well as in a new template. Anthony, can you confirm?
I think this feature just got added to the section planes. In the compositions (under the material ply->appearance tab) you still have a scale and rotation value, and then sort of a "global" hatch scale on the sectionplanesettings. It gives you c…
I have the same/ a similar Issue with BimInsert, it's almost uncontrollable in terms of getting the insert to where you want it to end up. DUCS is on, the insert floats somewhere off the target wall/floor. toggling CTRL to change size works, but you…
If its just about the doors sweep path or the basic crossection, you should be able to replace or enhance the 2d representation of your block using the brx_2d+ layers. This works well in floor plans. As for elevations, i had a related problem, poste…
have you looked into the use of the BRX_2D+ layers? bimpatch might also be an option, as long as its only a few details to show the exact window installation. i would avoid increasing the complexity of the parametric windows, i've had performance pr…
Ive been down the road using several compositions that have different surface finishes applied. I've also seen the same principle applied in customers files from other software (judging by the imported compositions). It kind of works but it quickly …
i'm often jumping between bricscad and rhino/grasshopper (and given rhinos slow upgrade cycle and the relatively low cost it's well worth getting involved). you have a builtin graphical programming interface that can be enhanced by c#/python/vb scri…
