  • I've found that to be a not infrequent occurrence, usually remedied by trying the download again. I attribute it to one or several of: local anti-virus monitoring all program-initiated downloads for questionable behavior; server-side issues delaying…
  • How would that work? Are round rods deformed into ellipses? Screw threads change pitch? Does the carefully sized environmental connector housing now have a leak because it's larger? It's possible now to move some things intelligently. For example, …
  • I'm for the Logitech M570 trackball. It has a very natural hand position and I'm not chasing it all over the desktop.

  • You might try VideoMeld from GoldWave. It's genuinely free for videos up to five minutes in length and it can save in down-sampled formats, e.g., 1280x720, and custom bit rates.
  • Look at Angular Unit Type (aunits) and Angular Unit Precision (auprec). Regardless of the setting you should be able to enter the angle as 00d00'00.00". To display in that format, you'll need to make the change in the dimension style.
  • _undo should work. Another option: when you slice, choose the Both option and do _hideobjects rather than deleting the interfering part. Better than either, though, would be to do a _sectionplane. It's much more flexible.

  • As I'm sure you are aware, while only three points are required to define a plane, multiple points are not necessarily coplanar. It's not entirely clear to me what you're attempting to define. Perhaps a drawing would help?
  • As I understand it, the snap aperture which sets the range of the "magnet" is defined in pixels, default 10. When what you describe happens here, the easiest solution for me is to zoom in so there are more "pixels per feature" (if that's a thing) an…
  • @Jason Bourhill said: There isn't a Limit option with REVOLVE, suggest that your raise a SR to consider adding this feature. You can use pushpull to extend the curved pipe, but the extend face stays parallel with the start. This is in V19, the…
  • Push/pull instead of extrude. Push/pull recognizes the shape of the (waves hands in the air) environment around a face and so it will continue it when you pull the face of the rail to meet the upright.
  • I, for one, am not clear what you mean by drawing view anchoring. Of course, it's very likely that this is a well known capability in other applications but one of which I am not aware. On the other hand, I do not seem to have been troubled by un-an…
  • @Ian Johnson said: Lconnect D'oh! (slaps head) Yes, much easier. One gets used to doing things in certain ways and may forget that new tools are available.
  • Lazy ol' codger that I am, I'd just pull a slicing plane from one of the outside corners down 45-deg, select the side to keep, and then mirror it.
  • True but one may launch the command and then choose the cutting face(s) which ought to do the right thing. I agree that the automatic slicing is chancy but doing a _bimslice then selecting a curved face (or several) can be right useful.
  • _Slice likes to do planar slicing. I can't seem to convince it to use a solid's curved face. Here's a quick-n-dirty and somewhat contrived example where one wanted to do something to the alignment entities in Drawing1. Change the number, move them, …
  • Open the Nvidia Control Panel (usually a right-click on the Windows Desktop) and open Manage 3D Settings. That allows you to select an installed executable and choose whether to use integrated graphics or the Nvidia driver for that application.
  • You can both extrude and push/pull solid faces (among other operations on them). Extruding a solid, as such, is an undefined operation. Extruding a cube into a tesseract is an intriguing idea, though.
  • Perhaps expanding on the error message to something like: Remove mechanical structure before importing or change the setting ImportProductStructure to "0" to import multiple components. I just checked and mine is set to "0" and I think that's the d…
  • I'm sure there are other (and better) ways but try this. Make some broad arcs for the edges, ends connecting. Grab them all and convert to a region. Use _dmdeformpoint (Model | Direct Modeling | Deform | Move Point) to grab the center of the region …

  • Well, for one guy's opinion given that we're entering the final year of MS support for Win7, a dual-boot system is how I intend to go forward. Current setup is a Win7 Lenovo i7 notebook with Quadro 2000M video which works quite well with Brics. Onc…

  • Not directly, as far as I know. However, the same effect can be achieved as in your example by lofting a shape between two closed polylines, the lower with a corner fillet of 5 and the upper 2.
