  • I used to have the same problem in early Versions of V12. However, sometime ago it got fixed. Which version of Bricscad are you using?
  • Very good points from Knut. I accept, that my whish for the ultimate 2D drafting and drawing programme is possibly beyond the scope of what is possible with a DWG based system. However there needs to be a vision. Today the vision for CAD vendors a…
  • Support have pointed me towards a solution. Thank you, support! I have to correct one point I stated previously. 3D views generally DO activate the Nvidia GPU, but it's all not that simple ... When starting Bricscad in 2Dcontext the Nvidia GPU is …
  • I think its interesting to see that almost all wishes from users are for 2D drafting capabilities. I subscribe to that view, most of my output is 2D drawings on paper and PDF. The CAD market is full with programms that do 3D in some form, but few …
  • Hi Richard, thanks for the information. I don't see any activity on the Nvidia GPU-meter, no matter if in 2D or 3D view. Anyway, the Nvidia GPU should also be active in 2D view as the redraw would be much quicker as well as having better anti-alias…
  • Hi Jason, Thanks for the link. Redway lists the GT540M as supported with Nvidia driver 275.33 - I have driver version 301.42 As for setting the Nvidia High-Performance GPU as default in 'Global Settings' of Nvidia control panel - I have already tr…
  • To show which graphics processor is being used, go to Nvidia Control Panel then select "Desktop" on menu bar and then make sure "Display GPU activity in notification area" on drop down list is ticked. You then get an icon in the notification area w…
  • Hi Mustafa, I see you are using Bricscad on a similar setup as I am (Dell XPS L502X - i7-2670QM / GT-540M). I believe your setup also uses Nvidia Optimus technology ie Intel HD graphics for powersaving, Nvidia Grpahics for enhanced video and 3D gra…
  • I have to disagree. The power of the graphics adapter has a mayor influence on display quality and speed. There are special drivers for Autocad to utilise the enhanced capabilities of workstation graphics cards. A Nvidia Quadro or AMD FireGL makes …
  • Found it myself ... ... I had INSERTION switched on as ESNAP. DOH!
  •   Yes, that's what I actually do. However, I often have to go into the external drawings to do some editing. The technical quality of drafting (separation into Layers, precision, etc) is often very, very low, especially in drawings from Landscape A…
  •   Thanks, for the reply. So, there's not much I can do with SPLINEs at the moment. I hope Bricscad will have some basic editing support for SPLINEs in the future. Being able to SNAP to the Nodes would be a start. Then, at least, I could trace an ap…
  •   I have had problems with hatches in a finished drawing that use lines from an xref'd base file as boundary. ... and yes, it's reported.
  • As this appears to be a bug, just submit it to support. That will give the developers a chance to fix things and make Bcricscad better. And we willl all profit!
  • Try making all the text centred. I think with "mirrtext" on, the text remains legible, but the textbox is still mirrored. Thus, left aligned textboxes become right aligned textboxes and that could lead to text being slightly offset in location relat…
  • Hi Heinz-Joachim, Workaround is to pre-select all lines/plines you want to join, then call pedit. In pedit call join and then pick all those lines-plines again that you want to join. Hope this helps, maybe someone else knows a better way. Simon.
  • Hi Alexander. I disabled panbuffer and so far it looks like an improvement. A little more screen flicker from redraws, but no artefacts.  Especially Xlines are now a lot more useful, as they actually show up. With panbuffer on I reguarly had to rege…
  • Can anyone comment on what the mentioned settings do or control. I'm curious to find out and the help file doesn't say much about these options.
  • Kerry, With 2D draughting I do not mean artistic sketches with a soft pencil, I am talking about technical drawings, or Rotring/Staedler if you want. If your client/subcontractor/manufacturer supports 3D models as production documents then at least…
  •   Not that it's much help to the original poster, but I'd prefer Bricscad to put their efforts into making the 2D drafting, drawing and illustrating capabilities top notch and ignore the distraction that is 3D. There market is awash with excellent …
  • I just had a look at the program options and there appear to be a few screws which might be worth tweaking. However, I am not really sure what they do. Could somebody give a brief explanation. Settings/Program Options/Display/ ... Regen-drag rate …
  • Option 2. looked good to me. I tried this and it worked fine when the block was inserted into a new drawing. However, in those drawings where the block was previously present, the order of the attributes remains unchanged, although the block defini…
  • The problem is that the block is an external dwg, there is nothing to select. Isn't there a script that can sort attributes alphabeticall? That way I could sort the attributes by naming conventions, ie 1name, 2place, 3date, ....
  • Lots of suggestions there to solve the problem. It'll take me a while to try all the options and find the one that suits me best. Many Thanks for your replies.
