Bricscad version 10 -- Clipped XREFs -- The need for speed!
I have been eagerly awaiting Bricscad 10, hoping it would be the one that would allow me to upgrade from AutoCad 2002...
The new features are great, and are an enticement, but speed is still the determining factor for me. The new release has increased performance in some areas -- zooming and selection seem faster, which is great.
However, multiple clipped XREFs (which I use a lot of) cause a drawing to open much slower in Bricscad 10 than in AutoCad.
For instance, opening a drawing with several nested, clipped XREFs takes about 5 seconds in AutoCad, and 55 seconds in Bricscad 10.
A drawing with about 10 clipped XREFs takes 3 seconds in AutoCad, 40 seconds in Bricscad 10. Saving the same drawing takes about 2 seconds in AutoCad, and 5 seconds in Bricscad 10.
Considering the number of times I open and save drawings in a day, this adds up to a lot of waiting!
I hope some additional performance increase can be made a priority -- that will get me to switch...
Thanks!

I can confirm it. I have same experience with opening largest drawing with by many xrefs.
What AC open at 2-6sec., BC opening more that 50sec..
At big building it's normally to use 10 and more xrefs for me.

John, Juraj, could you please file a support request and attach a zip file containing sample drawings? We will investigate which bottlenecks are involved and see what we can do to improve performance.
