invisible dimleaders

I am modifying drawings that were made with AutoCAD R14. After I make a few minor changes (colors of certain layers, and colors of specific objects) the leaders do not plot (except for the arrow head) and do not show up in the print preview. If a make a new leader, it appears in the preview. I don't want to replace a hundred leaders, but can't figure out why they disappear. I am using version 2.2.007, with Windows 98. Any suggestions?

  • I've had the same problem. Does anyone know the mechanisms behind Autocad leaders? If you do a "change" and click on them, an Intellicad leader panel comes up. No so with Intellicad leaders. They come up as simple line entities. I have not be able to "explode" the Autocad leaders either. It's like they don't exist for many commands.I sometimes pass Autocad generated originals that I have modified with Intellicad through to clients that are running yet another brand of CAD (usually Design CAD). My fear is that some of the original Autocad stuff will work in Intellicad but not in Design CAD for example. Guess who gets blamed for problems then.I would like a way to turn the proprietary Autocad stuff into simple line entities.

  • I think I ran ito this once. The answer then was to set all my unused plotcolors to white(7) The leaders where in another color I dont remember wich.A good thing when you recieve others drawings is to have a pcp with all colors set to white and thin lines (0.1).

  • What is a "pcp"?

  • Sorry .pcp = Print Configuration file opened and stored under the advanced tab in Printsettings.0.1 would be if you are metric.

  • Thanks. I didn't know one could save print settings.

  • Just remember when you are mapping your colors in the pcp file....that white is blacker than black...the color white will plot as black and the darkest shade of black is the first color slightly greyscaled.

  • Tom, The new intellicad has leaders as a single entity. You can explode them to line and arrow component. Leaders listen to the setdim settings, but the button on the entity properties is missing. That's todo!regards, sander
