Raster Image

Help! In Icad 2000(ver. 3.1.0009), Is there a way we can make raster image display on the drawing when insert as xref? Thanks in advance. We're using Win '98 as our operate system.

  • use IMEGEENBLER or INSERT OBJECT !!!and you will get it ok

  • Thank for your response. However, we have a existing border carried this raster image and we would like to xref this border into 10 or more drawings. when we tried to plot this drawings the raster image did not display. Autocad 2002 does not have this problem. We wonder what Icad 2000(ver. 3.0.0.0.9) missing.

  • Raster images only display in the parent drawing and the image file must sit in the same folder as the drawing where it is inserted.

  • When you do open the raster file in your drawing, you will most likely have to rescale it. I have brought in rasters that had to be multiplied 200x. In addition, you will probably have to rotate the raster as well. I suggest you have something on the raster that you can measure so that the scale can be adjusted.

  • Usually the raster image is a company logo from our clients and must be used over and over again in the title block border of each drwaing sheet

  • A functional workaround to this problem is to insert the the logo image in one drawing, scale and position it properly. Open the next drawing, Then copy the image from the first drawing to the second using a common insertion point (do not use copyclip, use regular copy command).

  • How do you scale a raster image or bitmap in Intellicad? It won't let me do it with the scale command and editing won't allow me to either.

  • The SCALE command should apply to raster images also! You can either type SCALE at the command prompt, then select the image or select the image, then right click and choose SCALE from the context menu.

  • You can only pick the image on the edge.Pick by doing a window right to left.

  • The -image command (without the dialog box) doesn't work.addImage method in VBA does work, but only if scalefactor is 1.can set imagewidth and imageheight, but either only change imageheight and not width.scaleEntity does work.Is this situation likely to improve?

  • I have always found it difficult to use images in a drawing - even in Autocad. One time it would plot fine, then the next time it would show in the preview fine but would not plot. As a contractor I have found it much easier to just use the graphics file as a temporary background, then just create a .DWG by drawing over it, then erasing it. I could then, scale or edit the logo and use it for whatever purpose I needed.
