Tony,I do not know why there is no response to your question. Same thing over at Cadopia, until today! A message from Surya states that 3.3, evaluation version, has been available for a while now. So I went to the download on the home page and it still reads 3.2.0001 here on bricscad. I have updated my bbricscad license and wonder why there is no information about 3.3 here. Why the secrecy??? Any information would be better than silence!

We are currently merging the code and doing the final testing. BricsCad IntelliCAD ver. 3.3 will be released on august 26th.

Louis,Thank you for the information! I look forward to the new release and realize that August 26th is a target date which may require revision depending on how the testing goes. It is nice to know that it is being addressed.Al

Louis.Could you tell us more about the 3.3 version.I´m really interested in it. I´m using the 2.002 version and it is more stable than the 3.0 of BricsCAD that I´ve tested

Version 3.3 will be very similar to version 3.2. Most changes are bugfixes.I'm surprised to hear that version 2.x should be more stable than version 3.x I'm using the latest version daily (in combination with BricsCad Architecturals) and I think it is pretty stable and the best version so far.

Will V3.3 be considered a major upgrade requiring additional licenensing fees to be paid to Bricscad, or will V3.3 be considered a minor upgrade from V3.2 and be available for no additional fees?

I am using 3.2 as well and have found it to be quite stable. I have noted in the past that with older versions some of the instability was more likely associated with Win 98. Since I am now using XP on one computer and NT4 SP6 on the other that the software is working very well.As to the upgrade issue, Bricscad has said it's policy is that if the upgrade is mostly bug fixes it will use the same naming convention, ie, 3.3 for the next issue (rather than 4.0) and there is no upgrade fee.

Louis:Do you remember that I sent you a block that crashes the program? That was with the 3.0 version. With the 2.0 version it does not occur. I don´t know if it is because I use the Window Millenium. I want to have a better version of BricsCAD and I agree of paying for it but I want to be sure that it works

As explained before: upgrade fees must be payed for a major upgrade only. This is when the major version number changes (i.e. from 2.x to 3.x). There was one exception though. Because the license manager was not updated yet in version 3.1, old license keys were still valid. Starting from version 3.2 an upgrade fee and a new license key were necessary.
