SQL or ODBC ?

Is it possible to create a link between Block text attributes and an outside DataBase ?

  • Yes. However it requires creating a VB or VBA application. If you have Visual Basic 6.0, I can send you a small VB project which is meant as a primer or 'how-to' code snips about database connectivity between IntelliCAD DWG and an MsAccess database.

  • Sounds promising, I would be willing to learn VB if it would get me what I want. My vision is full two communication between a db and DWG. Wasn't VB support dropped from InteliCAD ? Although I think it will be back in version 4 pro ?

  • I had thought that VBA was dropped in BricsCad, and so I am also interested in interface of IntelliCAD to full VB or, for the future, VB.NET. Maybe the next BricsCad release will include some VB.NET interface examples and/or tutorial flavored overview in a bonus directory. My brief look at VB.NET gives the impression of hard to get started but easy to run with.
