Exporting (step/stp) Model using Communicator

I'm evaluating communicator but I'm having a difficult time getting the correct step file to export.

My goal is to export a step file where the layers can be turned on/off in viewers such as eDrawings. I've tried all three settings from EXPORTSTEPFORMATVERSION and still get the same block exported. I've also tried all three step standards AP203, AP214 and AP242 and I still get the same block exported.

No layer control. Any help is appreciated.

    Hello.

    The feature of exporting to step format with layers is not yet implemented.
    It is currently being considered for implementation, but it might take a while until it is available.
