Civil Design of Remote Footpath. Cross and long section in Bricscad pro 26 - Help a Newbie?
We are relative novice CAD users exploring Civils 3d in Pro 26 for the first time. We have a TIN survey (surface) provided by a third party and created on this a 2d alignment for a new path. We have followed tutorials to recreate the path on the survey using STRING and corridor template of paths cross section and makeup.
The resulting wire frame looks ok so we are now using SECTION and SECTIONVIEW to create cross sections at 20m intervals along the paths centre line. Clunky but seems to work with the exception that the path we have drawn just wont appear on the survey cross sections!!!!
The cross sections look correct but the path is missing. I assume its because the SECTIONVIEW options cannot see anything other than a TIN surface.
Q1 - Can anyone help point me how to make our path 'appear' in the section analysis?
Q2 - The path string is created using a 'wireframe' version of our cross section. How do i render the path to use the same colour and fill as configured in the cross section corridor template?
Q3 - Appreciate there are plugins available. Any free ones that can better manage this basis Civils requirements better?
Thanks in advance guys.

Having been involved with Civil design software since the 90's Bricsys are slowly building their Civil package. Its what I would call like a child version not an adult version.
You have indicated want free, but I would look at Civil Site Design it's an add on for Bricscad. You need to look at how much time you are spending getting a result, that time can be costed. With CSD a few minutes and would have a Long and cross sections produced. CSD has built in design controls for a project like a footpath, you can set grade off another string etc. Obviously get volumes. Can do grading object, it has drainage and sewerage also
