X-Ref error

When I'm working in paperspace, with x-ref'd drawings, my linetypes are all becoming "continuous". "Psltscale" makes no difference. I've re-booted - no difference. For a few moments after trying to fix things, all was fine, then it all went back to "continuous" again.Ver. 4.1.0019.

  • More: I went back through check-prints I had done during the course of this. They were in modelspace, before I went to paperspace. "Linetypes" are ok in them. The problem seems to have appeared when I went to paperspace.

  • I wrote this down and then forgot to include it in the first post -- when I reload the x-ref drawings I get this: "Error building LAYER table."The next line: "1 reference updated."

  • Can you send us a representative drawing set , so we can reproduce the problem? We'll investigate it. If the representation works well for a while and then breaks down, that suggests that something went wrong with the drawing data.Alexander Van Heuverzwyn, Bricscad

  • I had the same with CMS V4 (which I gave away because of that and other problems). I could fix the problem by slowing windows video acceleration but then all circles appeared as polygons. I did not notice if there was an error in the layer table and have not noticed it with V4.1.0017.

  • Has anything come of this? I've been away for a few days.VM

  • Vaughn,we could reproduce a crash with your drawingset. If you reload xrefs directly, IntelliCAD crashes, while the crash does not occur if you unload, then reload. We're fixing it. Alexander Van Heuverzwyn

  • (follow up) i say crash, but in fact IntelliCAD does not crash right away , in icad4-1-0019. The crash occurs when I close, sander

  • Sander -OK. That gets the linetypes to work. I hope you're able to fix the 'reload' problem soon._____Here's another difficulty: The Draworder gets changed so that a hatch I had in "back" in the drawing, comes forward in the x-ref and covers linework under it.Can you fix that as well? Thanks,Vaughn

  • I have a drawing xrefed into 2-others and xclipped, once in #1 and twice in #2. I sent them off to an Autocad guy who can't see the xref except in the second of the 2-insertions in #2. He can see the xclipframes and list the attached xref, but cannot see the xref.I tried binding, first using the "bind" option (don't know what the diffenence is) - it gave an "error binding xref" message but displayed the xref. Closing then reopening the file made the xref disappear completely from #1 and #2.Then I used the "insert" option and it worked and I have sent it off again. Hope to hear how that went but the same happens on redefining blocks and it is scary in a program which in most other ways seems very stable and reliable.
