dictionaries

I see that the spell command is in the help files, but when you type in spell as a command it says that that command is not yet supported. Just what are dictionaries if they are not used in connection with the spell command? Is the spell command going to be supported soon? I am a little confused, that is what I thought I was getting when I upgraded to ver 5 was a dictionary built in.Thanks in advance for your reply.Vince Popish

  • Dear Vince, underhere is the excerpt of the V5 Readme file that you seem to refer to:-----· The IntelliCAD COM Object library has been extended with new objects to support extensive plot configuration. There are also new Dictionary, Region and Solid3D objects.-----What the above means to convey, is that the COM programming interface was extended with objects that give developers access to Regions, Solid3D objects and Dictionaries, which are object types that are part of a dwg file, but before were not accessible through COM. A 'dictionary' in this context, consists of a list of name-value pairs like e.g. "width - 15" or "name - Bill" Kind regards,Hans De Backer

  • Sorry about that, we do not have spelling support included. With dictionaries we were talking about COM objects ,which are used in VBA and VB, not about spelling. Dictionary objects are stored in a drawing. So we added COM objects for dictionaries, groups, 3dsolids, regions, layouts, and some plotting related objects..

  • We don't plan to support the SPELL command. This is a mistake in the current help file. The texts about spelling will be removed from the help files in the next release.

  • Could someone point me in the right direction for information regarding dictionaries & regions. Having never used ACAD, I have made myself familiar with the DXF thru LISP. However, since full implementation of the ACAD dwg objects has not been available in alternate CAD programs, I have no information on using dictionaries, regions, "reactors" and the like. Some sort of documentation that is accompanied by explanation and examples is what I am looking for. Thanks in advance.
