6.1.0006

Im having minor problems with the last release.Icons highlight witout anything happening. One example is ortho that I sometimes have to hit 3-4 times before it works. Entity snaps stop working after a few minutes. Shutdown BC and start again fixes it until it starts again. Usually I just have to close the drawing and open it again. Sometimes even the crossing window picking stops working. Then I cant pick any drawing objects. This is totally random I cant repeat it. Anyone else experiencing this ? XP SP2 - 512MB ram

  • Yes I had very similar with 6.1.0005 - fading snaps, partial or non-selection of entities. Often a zoom out/in fixed it for a while. It became tedious despite some improved features in V6 and I reverted to V5. Overall it works better for me.

  • I'm having some similar problems, which I have found to be somehow related to the autosave function. Crossing window selection during a command would cease to function immediately after an autosave, but be working again after I move the zoom wheel a little. As I have Autosave set to short intervals, this got too annoying and I'm also now back with 5.2.0010. The problem appears also related to complexity or time spent in a drawing, as new drawings are unaffected. All of my drawings with a certain level of complexity are affected, however.

  • We were aware of snap and window selection being lost at some points and we considered it important, but we couldn't pin it down. Now we can. After autosave, snap and crossing window fail in many cases until you change the view with pan or zoom. . We'll fix this ASAP. Nice bug report, Andreas. Patrik, concerning icons highlighting and orthomode: We can't see that. Which icons?Alexander Van Heuverzwyn,Bricscad

  • Mainly the orthobutton that doesnt always reflect if its onor off. Sometimes also the objectsnaps. Maybe its related to the autosave at least I think I have to be in the drawing for a while before it appears. Possibly snap and ortho are as common but I toggle ortho more. This is not fixed by zooming but selection problem usually is.There are rally two issues here. One is icons that highligt wrong. The other is object selection that sometimes hangs. This resembles the problem earlier where block subentities sometimes could not be snapped to. I can sometimes repeat the icon problem by having a drawing open in the background for a while. Pop it up and start shifting ortho mode on and off and drawing some lines

  • If you mean the ORTHO, SNAP etc text indicator boxes at bottom right of the screen, I believe they have always faded or greyed out occasionally right from Icad98. A minor nuisance I had gotten do used to I actually forgot that it happened. It's when Object snaps and selections stop working that's a real problem.

  • Nop I mean the draw orthoganal button. The icon at the bottom I rarely use except for changing layers. I find them more useful today than before. Earlier you could activate a locked layer for example.

  • We fixed the problem of snaps and window selection being lost after autosave.

  • The fix will be included in our next release.

  • Patrik, is the toolbar button status wrong because orthomode did not change, or is the problem confined to the toolbar(s) itself that does not update? Maybe the toolbars have an (unknown) error in them that triggers this problem, and a toolbar reset would fix it.

  • Hmm, I have to think about that. I will be back.

  • Icon toggles but nothing happends. Ortho stays off whether I zoom or not. Scrollbar says Ortho_T every time. I can hit ortho10-20 times without any other reaction than that the icon toggles. This time I cant see that I have had any autosave kicking in. Occured app 15 min in to the drawing session.I have to close the drawing to get it back.

  • With the troubles I had with V6, I never had that one.

  • Now this is interresting. If I type otho and choose on or off the icon toggles and the scrollbar states and but nothing happends.I can open and close the drawing without any change.I have to close BC and start again to get it to work.
