Copy/cut and past
In New version, when you copy and past entities between drawings, you are asked for an insertion point. ! What does it meen ? and anyway it dosen't matter what you enter for insertion point.

And what is more. If you say 0,0 (what I would asume to be default, since indeed this is a new 'feature') it pasts on the wrong location. As you stated it always pasts to the wrong location...Autocad has a 'Copy with Base Point' (command: copybase), but that one is not supported in Bricscad, so what is it?Gerrit

Im not shure I get your problem either of you.I copy things between drawings all day long.Select your stuff. Right-clic the mouse choose COPY andpick a base point . Pop up the next drawing and place the stuff with the mouse.Works for me and always has.Seems like there has been a little change in behaviour if you choose EDIT/COPY.Before if you choose EDIT/COPY it would default to 0,0 in drawing 1 and place it in the same place relativ to 0,0 in the drawing 2.Personally I never liked that.

That is an eye-opener: Right-click the mouse, and there is the option to pick a base point. Patrik, 'our problem' is that in the new version neither menu short-cut, neither keyboard shortcut, neither the Autocad equivalent gave us the opportunity to copy an entity to a another drawing. And that from the one upgrade to another. I simply failed to see your solution, since I prefer to use my left hand on the key-board instead of a right click of the mouse.I had to take my notebook out, with an older version of BicsCad installed, to copy entities from one drawing to another! You have not been affected by this, since you've always done it in a different way, but you obviously failed to see how users wth other preferences might have been affected.Anyway. I hope Bricscad restores the behaviour, because personally I never liked to type in twice 0,0 when it can be assumed by default.

We are currently testing an update build that should provide the best of both worlds: Ctrl-C-Ctrl-V (or COPYCLIP - PASTECLIP) now behaves like this: if no insertion point is entered during PASTECLIP then the entities are copied to their original location, else the specified point is used. This update build is scheduled to be released the coming days. Thanks for your feedback.Hans De BackerBricsCad

In autocad they have a "past to original coordinate" feature, that does exactly what it should do.

Thank you. Version 6.2.0010 does the trick.

Hans,Thanks for this solution. Nevertheless I encountered this occasion when the COPYCLIP - PASTECLIP does not function as expected, and that is when more copies of BricsCad are running, and one uses the COPYCLIP - PASTECLIP to copy entities from the one running BricsCad to another. I hope you'll be able to repair this behaviour.Kind regards, Gerrit Kiers
