reversing tick marks

I'm using v6.0.0012 to edit drawings probably created in ACAD, perhaps with Architectural Desktop. There are lots of dimensions, some of which get moved or stretched by my actions. They have large diagonal tick marks, which I prefer to arrows which make a drawing look like something from a metal shop. /----4'-0"----/Problem is, whenever a dimension gets modified, usually by stretching, one of the ticks flips. /------4'-6"------\ This turns the ticks in dimension strings into X's. I've been having to erase and recreate the dimensions, but even new ones have the same problem!Kevin.

  • We are having the exact same problem!

  • Same old problem never got fixedhttp://www.bricsys.com/protected/en_INTL/support/forumthread.jsp?id=596Try using TICK MARKS rather than arrowhead "Architectural tickmarks". This problem even shows in preview.

  • I tried using TICK MARKS instead of the block based arrow heads, and they simply do not show up. It doesn't matter what size I set. Do they work for anybody?I think the problem is that when a dimension gets small, around less than three feet, the arrows reverse to point from outside, which is natural for ARROW arrows, but not for tick marks. What seems to be missing is a way to supress this effect or at least set the minimum distance between points where this occurs. That still doesn't explain why the TICK MARKS doesn't work.Kevin.

  • The problem also applies to some of the block based arrows.Zoom in and try arrow closed versus filled. My TICK MARKS works nicely drawing in mm plotting 1/50 size app 100.

  • I'm editing drawings that were produced by another company, to bring up to our state's code requirements and fix design errors. Tickmarks work fine in a blank drawing I create, but not these. I've settled for exploding and manually reversing or erasing the bad arrows, which is time consuming. BricsCad has got to fix this problem!

  • Here's the problem! Exploding the dimensions has revealed that what's happening to the tick marks, at least in my case, is that they are rotating 90 degrees. Why?!?

  • There is an error while using Architecturals tick. For correct displaying of dimensions with ticks you have to do this:Settings of Arrowheads:Start: Arrow, filledEnd: Arrow, filledTick Marks:ON Enable tick marks
