R18 files
I looked hurriedly in the on line help file and can not find information on the R18.xx.xx file extensions. Can these files be safely deleted with out loosing any information from the current file? I work on highway right of way and utility drawings sometimes over the period of a year or more on several miles of highways. These files are taking up a lot of hard drive space and I would remove them if I can.

When opening an R18 dwg (2004/2005/2006) BricsCad V6 starts by making a copy of the original dwg which is named R18.xxxxx. Next it converts the original to R15 format (2000/2002) and loads the converted file. After editing the file, one can convert it back to R18 format (or send it back in R15 format). All in all, the R18.xxxx copy is created to allow someone to revert back to the original. And to answer your question: when deleting the R18.xxxx copy, you will not loose any information from the current file that you are editing.

Hans, thank you for your very prompt reply. You folks are among the best technical support groups in the software arena today. I have been with Bricscad since they first got into the intellicad software. The recent improvements have been outstanding. I wish you folks continued success! Thanks again.

I agree with those compliments.Does that advice still apply to V6 which gives the option of saving files in dwg-2004? I assumed from that the conversion was no longer necessary.
