Version 7.1.0011

During upgrading to latest version, you get a prompt of corrupted file in the gui for help.chm, click ignore to continue. It seems O.K after that.

  • There IS something corrupted in the Help file. Although I was told it was probally something on, in or about my computer--It still crashes when I go to help. I coppied the help file to another computer and no problems, which seems to make the computer the suspect. However, this is the only help file that crashes on this machine; including no problem with Architedturals Help, Sketchup, Office, or the VBA help included with Bricscad Pro. Something is wrong!

  • No problems on my installation! I've downloaded and upgraded to v7.1.0011 with no problems. My system does NOT crash when I open the help file.

  • Did upgrade your Internet Explorer recently? I myself experienced a similar problem: Help crashed a few seconds after opening. After uninstalling IE V7 the problem disappeared....

  • I have been having this problem since V7 was released. Yes, I did recently install IE 7, however the machine which will allow me to view the .chm file also has IE 7 installed. Software should be able to run with something as intergal as IE's latest since is practically part of the OS.What makes me say that there is something wrong is that the Bricscad Help is the ONLY help which does not work on this machine. The crash happens after a delay of about 15 to 90 seconds. Maybe they could recompile the help file if it isn't compiled with each release.Since this is the only help that crashes, (even Bricscad's Architecturals help doesn't crash) there must be something that this help file executes that is not in common with the other help files, OR the file is corrupt in a minor way that some systems will overlook - discard, while this machine won't. MACHINE DELL XPS; 1 GB; XP MEDIA EDITION; 8 MONTHS OF AGE.
