Save as
Starting from V7 ( I think) whenever I Save as when I start Bricscad it defaults to my Blocks path. Quite annoying as I tend to get loads of drawings in my Blocks directory.Second save as works on last used directory.Anyone else noticed this ?Before it always defaulted to drawings path ( much better).CheersPatrik

I've noticed this, too. I agree, it SHOULD default to the drawing directory.

My blocks directory is also the drawings directory, then each job has its own directory. So I don't get that problem, but I never noticed a change. You can set the shortcut to Icad to open in whatever directory you want, then I think it will saveas to that dir. While the saveas directory requirement will differ for users and situations, it would be helpful if blocks and xref paths could be remembered after the first insertion - once a block is inserted it's probably most likely you will want another block from the same place.

John How do you get your shortcut to start in another directory. I never got that to work with Icad.

That's the Windows shortcut - click on its "properties" or right click on an existing shortcut, "send to" (create shortcut on the Desktop), then right click on that.. properties, Start In...One hint (not meaning to insult), make sure the path is typed correctly and exists. If it doesn't work that's pretty much sure to be the reason.Otherwise it might be clashing with Icad's path settings which are changeable, but while mine have sometimes reverted to default, have never over-ridden the windows path.

Sorry, but to me this does not make any difference. Are you shure you can make this work?I always start in the first path for drawings.BUT Save as always saves to blocks path when I start. The problem is that sometimes you forget to move to the drawings directory when you save as. Next time I draw I might save it i drawings so I tend to get duplicates.

Well, as I say my "C:\DWGS" dir is my Blocks dir, which is set in the Options as the Blocks path and also is the "start in" dir in Icad's shortcut. Maybe if the Blocks dir and the start-in dir are different there is a problem?I also have (SETVAR "XLOADPATH" "C:\DWGS") in my Icad.lsp, but can't remember if that was necessary.I do remember I had a little trouble with paths set in Options reverting to their defaults (in previous versions some time ago), but that doesn't happen now.
