v9 error

In version 8, if we included the network folders where we store our standard blocks in the support file search path list, we could just type in the name of the block, and it would insert without having to browse and find the block on the network. In version 9, I like the new interface better but I'm getting the following error about half the time I try to insert one of my standard blocks:"An unexpected error occurred. The application became unstable. It is recommended to save your work to a temporary file and restart the application."I click OK, and it won't let me insert the block even thought the path is automatically found. If I browse to the network location manually and select the block, it lets me insert the block. Any ideas?

  • Hello Ammon...This sounds like the same problem I reported with support request 17520. I had not identified the problem existed when using a filename in the support search path, I was reporting the identical error when typing the name of a block known to already exist in the drawing. Sounds like the same behaviour though. I found it with version 9.1.8 and have been told the fix is scheduled.Regards.

  • Thank you, that does sound like the same issue. Hopefully they'll fix it soon. Problems like that are some of the major reasons we are reluctant to make the switch. If we have to browse to all of our standard blocks, it will take us about 3x as much time to do our drawings.

  • Bricscad V9.1.10 was released today, including a fix for this issue. If the problem persists, please file a support request.Besides the fix that was applied, we plan further work on the code involved in order to improve performance on network drives.Kind regards
