Bricscad rel 9 - Attaching Xref

We are experiencing an oddity with rel 9.1.8Drawings that open fine with rel 7 (they have xrefs attached – a drawing border) , but the xref do not display in rel 9.1.8The xref are not explicitly pathed but work on the assumption they are in the same directory as the main drawing. Is this a bug in Rel 9 or is there a setting that needs to be changed? We have tried every xref setting in the “options” program without success

  • I'm finding no problem with xref's in v9. If the externally referenced file is in the same folder as the main drawing file, it should show no matter how the path was specified. What does the xref page of Drawing Explorer say about the missing xref? What does it say about the Saved Path and Found Path?

  • Not quite, but I had some files which did not open until I opened the xref and saved it, I think the problem was addressed in a later rev of V9. You could try that or try updating to the latest V9.

  • The drawing explorer for Bricscad V9 says the xref is 'not found'Same problem with Bricscad v9.1.12The Bricscad V7 finds and attaches xref OK

  • When trying this here, everything looks working OK. Could you please file a support request and attach the files, we will be glad to investigate why the xref fails to load.Kind regards

  • The reason the xref is not found in V9 is that the extension of the xref drawing is missing in the saved path.V7 does indeed find such xrefs, when they are in the same directory as the host drawing. A fix will be provided for this issue.Thank you for reporting the problem.
