Saving as DWG 2000...
Hmmm... this may be one of those stupid questions...I typically have the save format set to 2000 Dwg for compatibility with older software. I know there is a size difference between the two that can be substantial but other thanthat is there any other negative effect I should consider? My drawings are all 2D with pretty much basic entities. I do use wipeouts, some associativedimensions, attributes, hatches, custom dictionaries (no custom objects or entities yet) andXDATA. I have not noticed any problems, just fishing for info on what I might be missing.Thanks.

One problem that we have encountered is about a bug in the way that AutoCAD 2009 products open files that were saved back to 2000 format from Releases of AutoCAD 2007 and up. The 2009 products occasionally will say that the drawing needs to be recovered using the recover command. We have fixed these issues by opening the offending drawing up and setting the system variable 3DCONVERSIONMODE to 0 and then saving the drawing and the problem seems to go away.Autodesk has a KnowledgeBase Article on it here:http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=11328222&linkID=9240617
