Zoom xp issue
the problem: the scale is changingWhen ever i set my scale in my viewport(paper space) 1xp for example (1:100)& then roll the wheel of the mouse inside in purpose.then i repeat zoom scale with 1xp-the outcome:the location of the drawing is misplaced & differs from my original location. In Autocad the location always stays the same whenever i choose 1xp.any suggestions

I switch to Mspace to do any editing or viewing at all, don't risk losing the Pspace setup after it is fixed.Icad zooms centred on the cursor position using the wheel, but uses the screen centre using Ctrl/Shft/Left mouse. In the second instance I guess it would return to the original position zoomed 1xp, maybe that's the issue.I don't generally use paperspace for a number of reasons, one being a prominent client won't accept pspace dwgs. I received some files last week which really show why it is not universally accepted - more than 50% of the work has been done in paperspace, making them very difficult to use as a base for my work.

Sorry, another thought - perhaps you mean to zoom the whole pspace screen, not just the contents of a viewport? In that case, if you double click inside a viewport the frame is highlighted and you work in Mspace through the viewport. Double click outside the viewport and you work in Pspace. The 3 modes have names which can never remember and they are accessible other ways as well as double clicking on the screen.

One other thing to note is once you have the view port scaled and the view positioned as you wish, lock the view port.A couple of options for locking the view port are the MVIEW command or select the view port and set the Display Locked property in the properties panel.Once the view port on a layout tab is locked all zoom and pan operations will occur in paper space even if you are working in model space through the view port.Hope that helps,Greg

the ctl+shift+left click does prevent from changing & misplacing the drawing, i do noticeindeed when i zoom scale again it returns to the original location.but when i use the wheel & zoom in/out & then use zoom scale again the location does misplaced.Regarding ploting/scaling from Model screen, i find it hard since mview doesn't work in model, for example:let's say i have A1 sheet & i would like to scatter 4 viewports with diffrent scales!! (1:100,1:50,1:5,:1:250) Paper space allows me to use mview & gives me already templates with pre made logos, then i can easily choose the scale for each independent viewport using either the scale xp or the properties bar (custome scale).hope i'm right about those 2 issues above.

I do that other ways, but the question is about displaced views in Pspace Vports. If you zoom into a corner in Mspace through a Vport, perhaps multiple zooms/pans, I can't see how Icad or Acad can ever know where the original view centre was in that Vport when you return to 1xp - how could it?
