codepage

s there a way I can change the codepage in an existing drawing? The extended characters dont show in my drawings.I have found out that using a clean AC2000 drawing does the trick.Only problem then is that the archtick symbols in dimensioning gets screwed up again, they turn in all directions.(This also happened when using old IC98 drawings.)

  • Intellicad does not have codepage conversion yet, though it is planned. Codepage conversion implies changing the text AND the codepage. Autocad does this by changing all text to unicode when it converts the codepage. These are ways to at least change the current dwgcodepage of a drawing:1. export as dxf, manually edit DWGCODEPAGE value and import again2. save as acad14 and use a tool wnewcp.exe by autodesk to convert the DWGCODEPAGE system variable. This does not convert the text.regards, sander

  • OkIf I export to DXF dwgcodepage says 3 . If I export from my clean AC2000 dwg codepage also says 3.What am I supposed to put instead.(what does 3 mean)

  • Nono, not 3. A bit lower you'll find a number like 1252 (that's for western codepage).Or 1255 (hebrew), 1250(Czech) etcProbably you want to replace the dwgcodepage by the value of the syscodepage system variable.for shx fonts there's no difference in representation. For ttf there is. Unless the text is in unicoderegards, sander

  • Hmmm. Both my drawings show syscodepage 1252.The one created i IC will not display my swedish characters. The one created in AC will. Propably UNICODE.Both are using the exact same font.I dont want to use ttf as I find it to unstable, so I only use shx.(the TTFs dont display correct either)The drawing created in AC would have been great had it not messed up my archtick symbols. How do I go about changing my IC drawing to display as the AC does?

  • OKI solved this by using non userdefined archticks in my AC drawing. (they arent as good looking for some reason)

  • I have to ask.Is there a reason why IC dont display UNICODE fonts properly as they do in AC2000? As it seems that it is a supported feature I dont understand why it is shut off. Does it mess up something else?

  • Hello,I have been reading about your problem...I have a utility from autodesk that changes your code page. If you would like it just e-mail me and I'll send it you.John

  • the IC fonts are more limited. It depends on the fonts, not on intellicadregards, sanderbricsnet

  • Sounds strange as the exact same fonts work fine if I use a blank AC drawing.By the way thanks John your utility worked fine.
