Calcomp tablet
I want to config my calcomp 3 tablet in Bricscad V9 (trial version), but I can't select the menu-areas.In, for example Autocad, there is no problem. How can I make the tablet working, before to buy an official license.Best regards.Peter Bontekoe

Peter, I use a Summagraphics table. I need to run either v7 or the beta v9 release to get it to work properly. I do not use menus with my tablet but I believe you should be able to run TABLET and select CFG option to align the overlay.I cannot speak authoritatively on the matter but I believe you will need to wait until the current beta version gets released in order to properly test.I have not heard anything about the expected timing for the release.

Greg,Indeed, I can align the whole tablet area and the screen pointing area, but I need to align the four menu areas.I'm still working for more then 20 years with a Calcomp-tablet and can't accustom to use the toolbars.Unfortunately, if the tablet is not properly working in Bricscad, I need to go on with Autocad. Thanks for your reply and best regards.Peter Bontekoe

Seems a shame to pay 10 times the price for that one feature.Tablet menus are touted to work in at least some different brands of Icad, might be worth looking around or revisiting Bricsys later to see if the functionality returns.I haven't used TM's since about Acad-10 and haven't been able to use a puck or stylus for the last few years. Only trackballs because my arm gets too sore.

Hans De Backer,You wrote some days ago the following in an other tablet-question: "The tablet related code has been entirely reworked in Bricscad V9.3. Release of V9.3 is scheduled for June"Does this solve my problem too?Is it possible to select the four menu-area's?Kind regards.Peter

Peter,in V9.3 all known issues with the tablet code (a.o. with calibration) have been solved, the geometry code behind it has been rewritten. In order to solve the problem you're faced with, we have to add more code: instead of supporting a tablet layout with a fixed 26 by 26 grid of 'menu cells', the code will have to allow for a user-definable layout and grid of menu cells. This will allow to use acad-like tablet layouts. We have started work on this extension and hope to have it ready by the next release.Best regards.
