Toolbar button bitmap image size limit?

I'm trying to create a few toolbar button image files.  If I create a large bitmap image file, anything outside those limits shows up in adjacent buttons.  I've tried jpg and gif files with the same result.  The builtin images appear to have better resolution than 16x16.

Is there any way to get better image resolution?

Sorry about the clarity of the original message.  The image size limit I am referring to is 16x16 pixels.  The image buttons clip outside that size.

The builtin images all have a resolution of 16 X 16 pixels. Bricscad doesn't support any other resolution.
