dwg-file-format Acad2010

Hi,

Any support for dwg-file-format Acad2010 planned in the near future?

Maybe already for the current version by way of a plug-in?? Would be needed!!

Please respond, thanks,

Stephan

  • The Open Design Alliance estimates to offer support for the Dwg 2010 format by the end of Q3/start of Q4 2009.

We will try to integrate this updated version of the ODA DwgDirect libraries within the shortest delay, probably by the end of Q4.

  • Hi!

Are there any news on this topic? Now its nearly end of Q1/2010 an we don't have DWG-2010 support.

    Kind regards

    Werner

  • Bricscad DWG-2010 support is about to enter the testing phase, this is likely to take a few weeks, after which it will become available.

    Kind regards,

    Hans

  • Yes, we too are starting to receive more drawings from customers from AutoCAD V10.  We keep a seat of AutoCAD LT V10 on hand to be able to open these files but obviously much prefer to work in BricsCAD.  I cannot begin to describe how bad and slow AutoCAD LT V10 is for those who haven't experienced it.  We anxiously await an update that supports these drawings.

  • Autodesk provides a free converter, DWG TrueView 2010 contains an embedded DWG Convert which can convert 2010 format drawings to any version down to R14. And you can convert an entire folder of drawings in a batch.

The old DWG TrueConvert was a better, faster product, but only goes up to 2007 format drawings.

Typical Adesk product - took a 60-Mb program and turned it into a bloated 260-Mb

  • Yes I know, but installing TrueView 2010 is no solution for us, because we don't want to install and support another application.

We are eager to get BricsCAD V10 with native DWG-2010 support...
