paperspace color

Hi, I found a thread connected to this question but seem to have lost it.

I am trying to change the color of the paperspace screen from grey to black. I opened_CONFIG options display but could not locate  'GraphicsPSscreen color' as suggested.

I have set paper space background color to black but this only sets the background of the viewport or print border.

  • The variable is BKGCOLORPS. You can type it into the config dialog and it will jump to it.

    Hope that helps.

  • If I understand Stephen's query correctly he is trying to make the entirety of the paper space a constant colour (not just the "plot area").  BKGCOLORPS only seems to affect the "plot area". Please correct me if I am wrong but  I can't find a setting that covers this?

  • Oops... I'm no help then.

  • At present the color of the paperspace background cannot be changed in Bricscad. We'll try to free up some time later this year to add this as a new option.

    Kind regards

  • Hi, yes , the difficulty is related to the whole of the paperspace background. Autocad has the facility to set all of these colours.

I use paper space all the time and my colour scheme does not fare well on the grey background.

    Cheers

  • Hi, just to expand a little further.

Up to this time, I generally have more than one sheet of a drawing in one layout tab. I have worked out that if I change the location of the plot window using page setup, I can view each sheet comfortably. However this is not so user friedly for some of the staff who wish to just open a drawing and check a plan or get some information from it.

The solution at present. I guess is to place each sheet of a drawing on a separate layout.

    Cheers

  • I also have 3 - 8.5" x 11" sheets side-by-side iin the same layout...I know this isn't the standard, but its easier to review the pages side by side.  They fit nicely on the screen with a wide-screen monitor.

I use a series of light gray lines that do not show up in the "border area" of paperspace. It would be useful to control the two background colors used in paper space.

  • Kind of like we're heading right back to the X-Window resources isn't it :-)

  • if you go to Settings interface, under Program options and then Display, the third option there is for the paper space background color. I am using version 9.2.15, and it allows me to change the color there.
