F2 - History screen

Just got to my attention that I cannot assign the F2 key that previously was associated with
the command PMHIST that Turns the Prompt History Screen on/off. What gives ?

Is there a way to make it work

  • The F1 - F10 function keys are now built-in hotkeys. The corresponding accelerator definitions are removed from default.cui for improved CUI file compatibility.
When switching back and forth between pre/post V9.3.4 Bricscad versions, the CUI file has to be reset in order to have the function keys functioning properly.

  • Thanks. but I don't think that this is the solution to the problem. Keys F1, F3-F10 behave just like before. The only key that doesn't respond is the F2 key, giving the prompt :"Unable to recognize command "pmthist". Please try again."

Is there a way to define this key ?

     Raam.

  • In V9.2 and earlier, F2 was defined as shortcut key in default.cui (see Customize dialog, Keyboard tab). F2 was defined to send the command 'pmthist' to the command line.

In V9.3, F2 is a built in hotkey that opens/closes the prompt history without sending any command. The command 'pmthist' was removed. However, it is still possible to assign a command to F2 in the Customize dialog, and if there is such a Shortcut definition, it will be used instead of the builtin hotkey. This is what happens with you : F2 is defined in your default.cui, which is the one shipped with V9.2.

Resetting your default.cui to the one shipped with V9.3, will solve this problem.

  • By resetting to the CUI shipped with the latest version, I will lose any changes that I made to the menus, aliases and other keyboard shortcuts. Is there another way to do it ?

  • Sure, open the customize dialog, go to the Keyboard tab and delete the Keyboard Shortcut for F2.

  • Tank's. That worked just fine. If so, it means that I can delete any shortcut between F1 to F10 that were previously defined.
