Bricscad to Word
Have a small dwg that I'm trying to paste onto a document in Word. Tried exporting as a *.bmp file but it comes in as a huge image and when you shrink it down to fit just right it becomes unreadable. Also tried using Microsoft Paint to adjust the size but it still looks like "crap". There has got to be a better way to do this and make it look professional. Maybe I need a more robust bit map editor of some sort. Any suggestions out there? Thanks ahead for any comments.

Your best bet would be to convert the drawing to a vector format that MS Word recognizes. A good target would be to Windows Metafile (.wmf), which MS Word and many other word processors can digest.
Fortunately, Bricscad (at least the current version) supports exporting selected objects directly from an open drawing to a .wmf file, so you won't need any third-party converters.

Tru using Gadwin Printscreen 4.4. this takes pictures of the area u want to use.
This little programm lets one take as much of a drawing as one need.
Very easy tot use when one use the properties.
I use it all the time, has not let me down yet.

I am in a classroom now with Bricscad V9.3.13 and MS Word 2007.
Ctrl+C from Bricscad and Paste Special, as Metafile or Enhanced Metafile, in Word works OK.

For "exporting" DWGs to raster format, can also try virtual image printer - http://sourceforge.net/projects/imageprinter/.

i use MWsnap freeware... very handy..

the printscreen keyboard button will place a BMP screenshot into the clipboard. simply open MS paint and paste... then save as JPG.

Under Briscad 10.1.10 with Word 2003, the paste special with Metafile command did not work for us. We had similar problem that bricscad drawing objects (especially ttf text) that were copied to other programs such as Office or MathCAD turned out only at screen resolution. Any attempted to cropped and enlarged image resulted in lost of resolution. This did not happed with AutoCAD 2002. It was simply Control+C and Control+V and it was done. I am sure there are workaround using PDF export and third party utility, but it is added up wasted time when you had to do this many time a day. We had already filed a service request a month ago and it was forwarded to development team.

For all interested parties, the lastest build Bricscad 10.1.11 has fixed part of the problem by vectorized the drawing objects when copy and paste between different programs. So you no longer get jagged edge when you crop and enlarge drawing lines in Office Word for example. The text objects still remains at low resolution and developer has promised me it will be fixed in the furture. When that will happens I do not know. It is a welcomed change in the right direction nevertheless.

I take my prior comment back. Upon further examination the graphic resolution still depends on the screen resolution at the time of copy. I was told that graphic resolution improvement will not be implmented until 10.2.x version.
