'Publish selected Lay-outs'

Hello there,

Is there a way or tool out there to publish multiple lay-outs at once? Like the AutoCAD option: 'Publish selected Lay-outs'.

I use CAD to create mulli-page booklets for production use. In AutoCAD I could just select all tabs and send them to whichever print device was needed, or print the whole bunch to a pdf file. With BricsCAD I am missing this a.t.m. and have to print al the pages manually. There is also no way to pre-define a page setup.

Can anyone help or is this just not supported?

T.i.a.,
Martijn.

  • With the pro version a macro is included that will batch plot in a similar fashion to the Autocad publisher.

Bricsys have a movie that shows how it works.

I found that it works ok, but you cannot select multiple layouts and change paper size and other settings at the same time. So it doesn't save much time.

I really think a publisher and an ability to preset page layouts is really needed. We often have drawings with many sheets (20+) and having to manually print these everytime is a real PITA.

I have requested this feature a few times, but no luck so far. I think they are considering it.

  • In the PDF Export options (File>PDF exprt options) you can set "Pdf layouts to export"  to either "active" or "all"
The latter will export all layouts in the active drawing file into a PDF.

Currently the only options are "active" or "all" so it will not work for "selected layouts only".
Hopefully they are planning to add an option for "selected layouts only".

A workaround would be to save a copy of the drawing file, open the copy file, delete the layouts you don't want to publish and then use the "all" option for exporting the layouts into a PDF.
