Problem with mirroring of attributes (NOT a mirrtext problem)

If I insert a block with attributes and then mirror the block, the mirrored attributes are legible (text in unmirrored). So MIRRTEXT is off.

If I insert the same block using:
: -insert
? to list blocks in drawing/~ to open the file dialog/<Block to insert> <diam_dwa>:
Units: Unitless    Conversion: 1
Multiple blocks/Scale/<Insertion point for block>:
Corner/XYZ/X scale factor <1.000000>: -1
Y scale factor:  < Equal to X scale (-1.000000)>: 1
Rotation angle for block <0>:
diam: %%c500
the attribute text is mirrored!

Is this similar to AutoCAD? Or is it a bug in BC?

  • I tried this in Autocad 2010 with a block of title block text.  The command line history was:

    Command: -INSERT
Enter block name or [?] <ZZ_TITLE>:

    Units: Unitless   Conversion:    1.0000
    Specify insertion point or [Basepoint/Scale/X/Y/Z/Rotate]:
Enter X scale factor, specify opposite corner, or [Corner/XYZ] <1>: -1
    Enter Y scale factor <use X scale factor>: 1

    Specify rotation angle <0.0000>: 0

    Enter attribute values
    PROJECT TITLE LINE 1: TEST

[more lines of text were entered]

All text in the block was mirrored.

  • Thank you very much for clearing that up. So it's not a bug, it's AutoCAD compatible!
