Attach Raster Image _ Use Geocoding Information_Google Earth Images
I've searched the manual and forum and have not been able to find any information on how to use Geocoding Information when attaching an image.
In particular, I'd like to attach a saved image from Google Earth and accurately save its longitude and latitude so that when I export a DWG to SketchUP whatever I've drawn as a base drawing over the image can export correctly back into Google Earth.
Can someone explain how to accomplish this using the Attach Raster Image dialog box?

There is no simple way to do this as Google Earth does not offer georeferenced export in the base product. As far as I know, to save an image with a world file you will need to purchase the Pro version. I have noticed after doing a search that some individuals offer up software that may be able to do this; but it is in the grey area of legality so you will have to look into that yourself.
However, if you have the world file already; just click on the "Use geocoding information" checkbox and then browse for it - Done!

Hello Paul, Daniel,
Bricscad itself now offers the possibility to insert geo-referenced images. However, you need an accompanying and separate World file. It cannot read a GeoTIFF-kind of image where the geo-coding information is embedded inside the graphic image.
The supported image file formats and their supported world file formats (in brackets) are:
TIF (TFW)
JPG (JGW)
BMP(BPW)
PNG(PGW)
ECW(EWW/ERS)
SID(SDW)In our GeoTools program for Bricscad, you can manage and insert multiple images along with their world files easily and quickly using the GT_GEO_INS command. You may want to give this a look. There are over 260+ other tools of interest to the geographic CAD user.

Thanks Rakesh, but inserting an image using its world file is not the issue. We can already do this with Bricscad without additional tools - the problem is trying to insert a google earth image at its correct world location when Google Earth does not provide the world file.

Daniel,
Yes, that is correct. Even I have made the same observation in my last post that 'Bricscad itself can import geo-referenced images'. GeoTools only goes a step further and enables multiple image image files to be selected at once and inserted with geo-referencing information. With plain Bricscad, you would have needed to do it one by one. Our observation is that most image-data users works with multiple images needing to insert at once into a single drawing rather than one by one.
