Wish List

Now that AutoCAD 2000i and 2002 are starting to become prevelent among consultants its time to start looking for what we need for compatability. Also, we need to address productivity issues. To start the list:1. vertical dimensions with spacing that matches horizontal dimensions.,. Right now we rotate to dimension.2. accuracy with snaps in base and xrefed files.3. spell checker. Currently using a lisp from Autocad R12 that is bulky.4.ability to read and write dgn files. (autocad map and microstation v8 offer this. 5.ability to process acad files with multiple paper space plot vies.6. assigned line widths7. ability to read and utilize theacad standards checker.8. better xref loading. chokes machine with various civil base maps and aerial info.9. better memory management.More later. let's see your requests. and bricsnet's responses.

  • The first point on your wish list can be easily solved by adjusting some settings in the IntelliCAD Dimensioning settings.Launch the Dimensioning Settings dialog and select the TEXT tab.The HORIZONTAL setting is alread set to CENTER BETWEEN EXTENSION LINESAlso select CENTER BETWEEN EXTENSION LINES from the VERTICAL drop down list. The tricky thing is dat this option is on top of the list (options are not in alphabetical order). Now adjust the VERTICAL TEXT OFFSET field (the value should be something like 2/3 of the text height).

  • My wish is that they fix all the known bugs and foybles in the current version.

  • I agree also....make all the fancy 3-D and rendering stuff optional addon modules to be fixed latter.... lets get the 2-D basic stuff bugs fixed first...according to recent surveys in CADALYST and CADVANCE magazines over 85% of production CAD drafting use is straight 2-D.

  • I agree. The best would be to have a perfect drawing package. Don''t enhance till the rest is totally compatible in 2-D. Have you tried importing ACAD 2000 dwg with "solids" into intellicad?. What about hatches???. WHAT WE WANT IS COMPATIBILITY of the USEFUL things

  • Dear intelliCAD user,Bricsnet's current priorities for intelliCAD development are mostly focused on consolidating and rewriting parts of the code where necessary. As such, we fully support the idea of creating and maintaining a CAD platform as stable and compatible as possible. As for the solids, multiple paperspaces and other new features in intelliCAD: please keep an eye on intelliCAD in the near future.Best regards,Jeroen TheunsBricsnet QA
