how to customize right mouse button

In autocad, the right mouse button is associated to the "previouse command" action

In bricscad, it is associated to "open drawing" action.

how do i customize the right mouse button ? I can't find this in the help file.

Thank you.

  • same problem happen to the "space" bar too...click on the "space" bar, the "open" window pop out...

    how to disable that?

    Thank you.

  • Both are set to issue the previous command I.e.  if you draw a line, then right click or tap the space bar, the line command will be re-sent. I don't know how to disable them though.

  • Why it sudden turned to this behaviour?

Other than the problem in space bar and right click  turned to "open" command, the up and down keys on the keyboard that suppose to let user scroll back to the previous command also didn't work

I closed bricscad and restart the program again, it has now back to normal...

    Thank you

  • Because, open is a command,  also the '_open' command is called if you choose 'open' from a menu as well : )

  • Type in SHORTCUTMENU at the command prompt and then type in 7.

  • Nice! thanks for posting!

  • I think what Pang describes may actually be a bug, because I just had a similar thing happening. Right-click would not repeat last command but a fixed command (in my case trim). Restarting corrected it.

  • Is there any documentation for SHORTCUTMENU?  I don't find anything in help or in the pfd documentation.  The command line does not respond to ? or HELP.

  • I did not look far enough before posting.  Settings > User Preferences > Shortcut menues

  • Asbjørn Værnes, you are right..it is a software bug!!

Bricscad just behaved abnormally after continuously using for a few hours....

Typical bugs and stability issues in bricscad that I have experienced so far after conitunously using it for one week :

    1) mouse and space bar shortcut was locked to a single command, have to close and restart bricscad

    2) screen freezed and all lines overlapping each other when scrolling mouse wheel to zoom in and zoom out, have to force shut down windows and restart

    3) the software crash and shut down itself without any warning (resulted work done totally lost)

    4) reference edit moved block object's position - problem to edit drawing created with dynamic block in autocad

    5) line properties setting changed itself in the process of copy & paste from one drawing file to another ....copy "dashed" line become "continuous" line after paste

  • Wow! I beat up Bricscad day in and day out too and I have not run into those kinds of stability issues. I wonder if you might have some sort of hardware problem?  Also if you can reproduce a bug, report it so it can get fixed.

  • I totally agree with Daniel's comments.

Frustrating as your problems are Pang, it might help to know they are not experienced by everyone.

  • Pang,

Just tested item 5 - I copied dashed line from one drawing and pasted into new one. It works good for me.

    Vaidas

  • I can confirm Item 2 and 5 - just can't reproduce reliably.  Two is a doozy because I don't know whether to try and save so I don't lose my work or leave it in case the file is corrupt and i lose everything.  I have no problems with the lines - is there any chance the line scale is different and it just looks like it's continuous?

  • @ Pang Wei Ong: A good tip is to set the savetime to a shorter interval so that in case of a crash the data loss is limited. Out of the box savetime is set to 60 minutes, meaning that you can loose up to an hour's worth of work.

  • I also have Pang's bug 2) from time to time. I would of course file a bug report if I had any information on what triggers the problem, but I don't atm.

  • Same Pang # 2 issue here. Screen freezes, tools icons dissappear and re-appear when moving mouse over them, but without functionality.Drawing appears broken and unusuable. Program crashes and saving changes becomes almost impossible. This problem has occurred in three different PC's, with different hardware equipment. We have sent a screen capture to our support team in Spain and are still waiting.

  • Rafael,  we identified a problem in case buffered panning is used, which could lead to this kind of instability. A fix for this issue is included in  V10.4.10, which has been released a few minutes ago.  Please give it a try, we are curious for your findings.

  • Hans:

Thanks for your reply, but we are spanish customers, and downloadable version in spanish language (through Bricsys.es) is still V10.4.8.1. Spanish language versions of Bricscad use to be available some weeks after english language ones (translating work, I suppose), so we will have to wait.
