Who is working with a CalComp III tablet

I have still problems with my Calcomp III tablet.

By certain commands, for example -ddinsert, the command is finished well, but after that i can't select an other command. Then I have to config the tablet once again. (verry strange is the fact, the ddinsert command in a macro gives no problems)

I have sent several support requests, but get no answer.

Is there anybody who has an idea what is going wrong. (or do I have go back to AutoCAD, where no tablet problems are)

Regards.

Peter

  • You might try _ddinsert instead of -ddinsertt, I think a while ago some commands changed (in line with Acad changes?).

-ddinsert does nothing on mine, but _ddinsert works.

If you came from an earlier version of Acad, you might find a number of such changes which have caused me at least, some grief or at least surprises. Lisp too!

Very unusual to not have a support request acknowledged, most of mine were solved and all are still listed.

I used to love the graphics tablet. Had it set to work in about a 30mm wide "window" which was fast as, but my arm became so sore (after about 15 years) I had to look for something physically kinder. Now I choose between trackballs, can't use much else.

  • John,

-ddinsert was a typing error of mine. I meant _ddinsert.

But with all of the following commands I have to config the tablet once again: insert  /  _insert  /  ddinsert  /  _ddinsert

  • You mean _ddinsert doesn't work? insert / _insert / ddinsert / _ddinsert all work for me (on the command line).

I can't remember what the underscore does, but seem to remember there was a change in the use of one or both _ and - .

The minus sign makes certain commands such as Layer use the command line, prevents the popup. It makes sense now I think, that wouldn't work with ddinsert, but does with insert.

It sounds like you might have found the problem, but I'm not clear what it was.
