mouse button assignments

Trying to assign osnap to the wheel button.    I have turned off mbuttonpan.  I used buttons1 in the menu file under tablet digitizer buttons to try to get it.  All I get is the pop-up osnap menu.

  • I'm not sure I ever got a menu item to override what mouse buttons do, but if the popup osnap is not what you want, what is meant by "assign osnap" to it.

I assume you mean pressing the wheel as a mouse middle button.

  • I would assign various osnap functions (or orthomode) to the buttons (or button plus shift or button plus ctrl).   This is one thing that each individual in our office does differently.

Personally I was trying to replicate my acad setup which is Ortho on the wheel push,  Per = shift + wheel and Cen=ctrl+wheel.

  • I believe I have tried that and couldn't get it to work in Icad.

I could never work out why there were 4 different ***Buttons sections under Tablet and perhaps more buried in the Acad mnu and why it was even under Tablet, but it got too hard porting menu customisations between versions and then onto Icad when it arrived - finding where the new menu was, finding the places within it to change etc. I finally left the main menu section alone and restricted any customisations to an appended menu which calls up many lisps and some scripts from its popups.

I recently began using a Genius gamepad, which has 11 customisable keys x 4 different sets of customisations as well as a wheel.

The wheel on the left hand takes some pressure off my right, but having function keys/macros/key combinations etc available there is very useful.

Not very left hand friendly though, which isn't a problem for me.
