dwg objects embedded in ms word documents

Dear all,

it's a problem with old doc files where dwg objects are embedded from for example AutoCAD 2000 (or probably also Bricscad V9) when you now have for example Bricscad V10 (but you have the same problem if youi have a newer AutoCAD version also!).

The problem is that when you double click to edit a dwg object, MS Word is looking for the old AutoCAD, for example "AutoCAD.R15".

The only solution I have fund so far is to open the doc file in an ANSI text editor (Notepad++) and search for the start of the dwg content, that is "AC1015" for AutoCAD 2000 (later on its AC1018, AC1021 and so on), then copy paste from there to a new file and save as DWG. If you have several dwg objects in one doc you can make several dwg files.

NOTE: It doesn't matter if you copy more than needed as long as you start at "ACxx", Bricscad will read the file and ignore the MS Word stuff at the end of it.

WISH: A simpler solution, like adding something to the registry so we can just double click in Word (or Open Office)...

Any advice?
