CAD Standards

Hi,

I am looking at "alternative CAD systems".

Does Bricscad Pro have any functionality to check a dwg file has layers, text styles etc which match with those in a 'standard' drawing?

(I am currently a user of Bricscad for Linux, and the functionality does not appear to be in the classic version)

Thanks,

Hugh

  • In Sofoco Tools we have a tool to 'impose a template', ie import the layers and blocks from a template drawing into the active drawing.

  • We also have a 'Layer Mapper' for translating outside consultant's layernames to match in-house standards

  • Sorry, I keep adding to this ;-)  Sofoco Tools are written in VB.net and won't work on Linux...

  • Thankyou for the info.  I was thinking the functionality may be in the pro version ~ which is only Windows anyway.

I am able to go to Windows and the pro version, but at the moment I am only using the Linux version ~ Hence I am asking questions that will be obvious to those with the pro version.

    Thanks again for your answer

  • If youhave no joy, the primitive way I do that is Insert my "std" file which contains all my layers, dimstyles etc then cancel before it asks for a placement point.

Hey if you have to check you might as well add the missing empty parameters anyway.

I don't use that often, I selectively purge and if I lose anything from one of my own files it's normally layers and I use script files to create those.
