ubuntu 10.10 bricscad cursor trail

Using latest version of bricscad with my sony vaio running ubuntu 10.10 with the opensource graphics driver, leaves a trail of the cursor and selection box. It is very annoying. If I use the ati graphics driver the problem goes away, but I would like to use the opensource verision of this driver.
