Line Join Style

In the Plot Style Editor we can set 'Line end style' and 'Line join style'.  According to the help:

"By default, the option 'Use Object Join Style' is selected.  If you select a line join style, the object's line join style will be overridden in the plot output."  It can be set to Miter, Bevel, Round or Diamond.

Question:  How could I set or change the object's own line join style?  This property doesn't appear in object properties.  I can't see how to do it in AutoCAD either.  It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma

    Eg when printing text with ROMANS font, with a lineweight, the 'Miter' style of line joins produces objectionable spikes.  The default line join style should be 'Round'.  Can this be set on the text entity or can it only be set in the plot style editor?
