Error - Buffer Overrun
PASTE CODE HERE
I created a new drawing by saving changes to a client's drawing and have opened and closed it numerous times since then. Today I tried to open it and got the following message:
Error - Buffer Overrun This File may be an Auto CAD R14 Beta Format File
Followed by:
Warning: Error was found during open. We recommend that you close this drawing and run DDREVOVER on this one.
When I go to file and run Recover I get a message saying "Could not rename 'Path\Filename.dwg' to 'Path\Filename.bak' File 'Path\Filename.bak' already exists or could not be created (invalid path)
Please help.

Scott,
I get the "buffer overrun" error occasionally with Intellicad files. I don't know about your path issue, but I can usually fix the file by using Autodesk's DWG Trueview (it's a free download ifyou don't already have it) and converting the problem file to some earlier version like 2000 or R14. Hope this helps.

Or use the new TeighaFileConverter from the ODA, it has an audit feature.

This is a v7 type error. V7 is based on the old style opendwg libraries. You could try a trial download of the current version, it's valid for a month, and run recover with it.
