  • Dear Dale,
many thanks for the info ... :-)

Just a question aside ... would you be interested to have a port
for BRX Linux ? Very likely, Lisp users *will* love it :-)
And we have already some requests for this ...

    As I headed the BRX Linux port, I would really like to assist you - in case;
and of course, we are open for any kind of cooperation to have a
"DOSLib Linux" (funny name :-) )

What do you think about ?
Wish you a nice weekend, many greetings
    Torsten

  • Thank you Dale for the updates and thank you Torsten for this request regarding Doslib for Linux!

I'm thinking about porting to Linux, but I'm still missing to have something what I can find in the Doslib's library (I'm so lazy to write my own routines in this style :). So, it is very welcome to have Doslib for Linux platform too.

    Best regards, Vaidas

  • Hi Torsten,

Thanks for the reply. I haven't given a Linux port much thought - I wound how many functions would have to be rewritten.

  • Dear Dale,
many thanks for your reply ... I have expected such a question :-)

In fact, our BRX Linux SDK has been designed to support "Windows CPP" client code, as
ARX / BRX client code is naturally Windows based.

Of course, there is no support for MFC GUI support (yet), but somewhat MFC non-GUI support,
and a lot WinSDK, ATL, C-Runtime and Unicode ... you would be surprised :-)

And naturally, a kind of DOSLib subset would probably already match developers' needs ...
Of course, I would provide any kind of assistance, to prevent extra work for you, as much
    as possible - promised !

    Many greetings, Torsten

  • Hi Dale,

You can count my vote FOR a Linux version of doslib. That would be a really great thing to have and a boon for Lisp programmers. I see that more and more Lisp programmers, both causal as well as professional are using doslib in their programs.
