Taskbar not unhiding -probably windows issue

I have a problem with my Taskbar not being accessable.  It is set to autohide, but often when I am running Bricscad it will not unhide when I move my  mouse to the edge.  Now, if I minimize all my window and go to the desktop, it works fine.

As far as I can recall, this only happens when Bricscad is open.  When it starts, even if I minimize Bricscad, other programs will show the same problem. The problem is intemittant.  It showed itself a minute ago, but now everything works fine.

Any suggestions about how to resolve this?

  • Joe,

I have experienced the same problem with the Quick Launch bar as well. I reported it via an SR but it fell on deaf ears. I believe that under certain circumstances Bricscad does not observe the "always on top" setting of the Taskbar / QL bar. The only workaround is to unmaximise Bricscad as you describe and click on the bar. That seems to sort things. It would be nice if it were looked into though.

  • Hello Joe,

I reported the same problem, September 2010. The cause of the problem was unresolved and the SR closed.

  • Hi there... I am not sure if we are talking of the same thing but when I have a program running in the background that requests attention the task bar is raised and will not auto-hide again until their application gets focus.

This is a very annoying behaviour from my perspective but it is a Windows issue. It is a behaviour that is not restricted to Bricscad. It happens regardless of which program has the focus at the time a background application requests attention.

  • Not the same issue Greg. We are talking about the QL & Task bars not coming to the top when they should because Bricscad is at a level event higher than those bars, which shouldn't happen.

  • Ahhh... gotcha. Mental flip ;-)

  • I have been keeping metal record of when this happens, and for several days it has not happend if Bricscad is closed.  It only happens if Bricscad is open, and then only intermittantly.  I shoud had that I have a drawing that has a lot of problems with display. The print area of layout tabs, and even BW vs Color has been misbehaving.
